Emergency Maintenance - VIC

Engineers are performing remediation works for an issue identified during incident investigation.

Some fixed wireless services in VIC will experience a couple of outages of up to 15 minutes while works are completed.

Other fixed wireless services in VIC may experience brief periods of packet loss as alternate paths are found.

Severe Weather Warning (Victoria)

Severe weather is currently affecting power in a number of areas across Melbourne due to high winds downing trees.

There is currently no outages affecting the Summit Fixed Wireless Network, however our Network Operations Team are monitoring the situation.

  • Update 0800 15/2

    Power network operators are still restoring power and we are still seeing some customers offline.

    All Summit transmission sites have had power restored as at 1900hrs 14/2.

    Once your power has been restored, if your service has not restored, please restart your router and NTU before contacting Support.

  • Update 1520 14/2

    Battery reserves at Upwey have now exhausted. Ausnet have advised that restoration is underway, however, there is a lot of damage in the area. There is currently no ETA. We are continuing to liaise with power network operators to obtain updates as they become available.

  • Update 1300 14/2

    We are still seeing a large volume of power issues affecting Customers on the Ausnet and United Energy power networks. We are continuing to monitor this situation.

    Summit transmission sites are being closely monitored by our Network Operations Team.

    Further updates will be provided as they become available.

  • UPDATE 0930 14/2

    Summit field crews are out remediating transmission sites where safe to do so. We are working closely with power networks and emergency services to maintain both our safety and their safety as many roads are blocked and lines are down.

    Our network operations team are actively monitoring the situation and deploying crews where required.

    We will continue to provide further updates as they become available. Next update 12pm 14/2 or as information comes to hand.

  • Update 2100

    MAJOR POWER OUTAGE (VIC) Power Network Operators (Ausnet, United Energy, Jemena, CitiPower, Powercor) are working to assess damage and get power back on to areas impacted by severe storms, lightning and winds that are sweeping across Victoria.

    Some Summit Fixed Wireless Transmission sites are still without power and battery power is starting to exhaust in some sites. We are currently assessing the deployment of replacement batteries and generators where safe to do so.

    Current impacted transmission sites are predominantly in the South-East Melbourne corridor.

    The main storm front has now passed through Melbourne. We have seen some services restore however, many will be affected by the rolling power issues.

    Summit NOC Team will continue to monitor. Next update will be before 1000hrs 14th February or prior if important information becomes available.

    Parts of the Summit network are degraded due to lightning, winds and heavy rainfall. We are currently monitoring the situation in our Network Operations Centre.
